Senior Business Systems Analyst - IT Planning & Engagement

In this role, you will work as part of the IT Planning and Engagement team under the direction of the Enterprise Analyst leadership. A self-motivated individual with exceptional communication, teamwork and an ability and desire to assist in fostering a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment is critical to the success of this role.  As part of this team, you will have an opportunity to work in an agile team environment and will gain skills to support across teams in the IT Planning & Engagement organization.

An ideal candidate is someone who can leverage strong technical skills and business knowledge to contribute to the team. They must be a self-starter, have an inquisitive nature, and possess a strong aptitude to pick up new skills and knowledge through research, perseverance, and training.  They must be adaptable to an ever-changing environment, as well as being able to think outside the box to provide innovative solutions. They will play a significant role on the IT teams they are part of by understanding business requests and refining them into technical requirements for development, as well as developing test cases and performing testing.

This position requires strong analytical, complex problem-solving, and organizational skills, while maintaining a sense of urgency to meet individual and team deadlines and goals. This person should show an inquisitive nature, seek improvements, and demonstrate strong accuracy and attention to detail. 

•    Lead coordination with customers to elicit and translate business needs into detailed functional requirements, then collaborate with development team to design and transition functional requirements into technical solution
•    Develop a trusting relationship with customers to better support the business areas on enhancement requests and system-related issues 
•    Continuously explore new technologies to further facilitate discussions on how they could be used to make our processes more efficient
•    Test user stories and ensure all acceptance criteria is met, which may include creating/running queries to generate, validate, and analyze data from various applications
•    Work within an agile environment following sprint commitments and release schedules
•    Acts as a resource to help define the scope and objectives of moderately complex system-related projects using various analysis, research and fact-finding techniques, and evaluates the proposed new systems or enhancements for estimates and feasibility
•    Creates, maintains and coordinates updates to moderately complex critical system data elements and configurable applications, including rules, values, tables and output with little or no development resource assistance
•    Prepares end-user procedures and manuals and provides end-user training for moderately complex new or changed system functionality
•    Mentors and trains team members on technology, as well as best practices and standards

•    Strong aptitude to pick up new skills and knowledge through research and perseverance
•    The adaptability to work in an ever-changing and dynamic environment and works well under deadlines and pressure
•    Ability to support multiple IT teams and projects simultaneously
•    Ability to think outside the box to provide innovative solutions

•    Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and collaboration across teams/departments
•    Proven complex problem solving and analytical thinking and ability to approach problems logically and systematically
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Willingness and ability to assist with change management
•    Experience mentoring 
•    Ability to travel as needed

•    Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field or equivalent work experience
•    Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst or relatable position
•    Experience working with business units to define needs, provide analysis and document consequences of change
•    Experience collaborating with internal IT teams to define and design application solutions that meet the customer needs and IT best practices
Work Experience, Education, Certification/Training (Desired):
•    Experience with Agile methodology and proven ability to transform complex problems into stories
•    Working knowledge of various coding languages, including the following: SQL, C#, or JS
•    Working knowledge of various software platforms, including: Microsoft Dynamics and Power Apps, NICE/Amelia, OpenText, Solimar, CMOD, Hyland OnBase, Microsoft Power BI
•    Understands the moderately complex data structure and database schemas
