PB Finance Analytics, Senior Associate, Institutional Equity Division

The Senior Associate will work with the PB Finance team to deliver business and client analytics across revenue, balances, pricing, profitability, and balance sheet. The role includes supporting client pricing, mapping and creating new accounts/setups , billing/Wire validations, and revenue controls, while providing insights for senior management decisions, process improvements, automation, and strategic initiatives.

PB finance is a NY based team in the Institutional Equities Division (IED) of Morgan Stanley whose key functions are mentioned below

  • Provide a means to identify, analyze, and prioritize new and existing business opportunities with our clients.
  • Liaise with Sales and Client Service in order to provide a holistic view of client value.
  • Help facilitate cross-divisional communication concerning the PB business and it client base.
  • Partner with support services to ensure the integrity of data and processes used to support the business.

 What you'll do in the role:

The role is based out of Mumbai and required working with the PB finance team in NY within the Institutional Equities Division (IED) Department. The role will require a fast-learning, dynamic, pro-active and self-motivated person to assist in analyzing and reporting revenues and profitability.

The role involves:

  • Prepare and deliver monthly business and client-level analytics, including product attribution, spread analysis, balance sheet reporting, revenue trends, and management insights.
  • Manage client pricing, fee scheduling, and account onboarding activities, including maintenance of commercial terms within WIRE and other firm systems.
  • Lead pricing analysis, profitability assessments, and scenario modelling to support client negotiations, commercial decision-making, and new business opportunities.
  • Perform detailed balance, revenue, and pricing analytics to identify material movements, investigate variances, and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support billing validation and revenue sign-off processes through reconciliations, exception management, and risk and control reviews to ensure data integrity and revenue accuracy.
  • Own day-to-day client lifecycle support, operational set-ups, and data quality initiatives, while driving process and control enhancements across the business.
  • Partner closely with Sales & Coverage, Trading, Risk, Strats, Finance, Operations, Technology, and external clients to deliver strategic solutions and enhance client outcomes.
  • Drive technology, automation, and process improvement initiatives by defining business requirements, supporting testing activities, and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Produce management reporting and dashboards to facilitate strategic decision-making, business performance monitoring, and profitability optimization.
  • Support broader Prime Brokerage Finance activities, including forecasting, repricing analysis, financing and lending-related reporting, regulatory submissions, and senior management presentations.
  • Deliver ad hoc business analytics and commercial insights by monitoring client and business-level metrics, evaluating the impact of process or policy changes, and supporting management decision-making.
  • Contribute to strategic business initiatives focused on revenue growth, operational efficiency, balance sheet optimization, and risk management

What you'll bring to the role

We are looking for a pro-active person who has a high attention to detail, is a quick learner and has a natural curiosity to understand about financial markets and products.

  • 2–4 years of experience in Prime Brokerage, or a closely related analytical role.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification required; CFA and/or FRM preferred.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong business writing, presentation, and telephone communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word); VBA knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
  • Product knowledge of equity swaps and listed derivatives is desirable.
  • Ability to think strategically, develop creative solutions, and drive technology and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams and organizational boundaries.
  • Experience partnering with internal stakeholders on the preparation and presentation of information for regulatory and management reporting purposes.
