Lucid Motors is seeking an NPI Project Engineer II to lead the execution of new product introductions and engineering changes for exterior systems and components. This role is crucial for ensuring that exterior systems and components are production-ready and that materials, systems, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional teams are aligned before launch. The engineer will support pre-validation builds, pre-production activities, and SOP launches, evaluating ECRs, managing MBOM readiness, coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking material and system readiness, managing Touch to Check activities, and identifying/resolving launch risks.

The Role
Launching a new vehicle is one of the most complex challenges in manufacturing, and this role exists to ensure exterior systems and components are ready for production without disrupting operations. As an NPI Project Engineer II, Exteriors, you will lead the execution of new product introductions and engineering changes from development through production implementation, ensuring materials, systems, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional teams are aligned before launch.
Success in the first 12 months means supporting flawless implementation of exterior product changes, improving launch readiness through disciplined execution, and helping teams identify and resolve risks before they impact production.
What You'll Own
New Product Introduction Execution: Support pre-validation builds, pre-production activities, and Start of Production (SOP) launches for new vehicle programs and exterior product changes.
Engineering Change Implementation: Evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) by assessing implementation timing, material availability, manufacturing impact, system readiness, and operational feasibility.
Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) Readiness: Create, maintain, validate, and manage Manufacturing Bills of Materials to ensure accurate production execution.
Cross-Functional Launch Coordination: Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Material Planning, Logistics, Production Control, Quality, Supplier Industrialization, and Operations teams.
Material & System Readiness: Track critical material availability and verify readiness across manufacturing and business systems.
Touch to Check (TTC) Management: Coordinate Touch to Check activities, including planning, inspections, action tracking, and readiness confirmation.
Risk Management & Communication: Identify launch risks, drive action plans, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Support improvements to NPI processes, launch methodologies, and operational tools.
