About the role:
The Building Services Technician will assist and support the site Facilities Management team in providing day to day operational management for all services within a portfolio of buildings.
This is an active and visible role requiring excellent customer relationship skills. Working as part of a team, the Technician will be expected to positively contribute to the performance of the Facilities department and build strong local relationships with the client and internal teams.
Job Level Overview
The required candidate should have a background in Facilities operations or in a site support maintenance related role. Their skills should cover the following disciplines and be academically qualified and or experienced in building services activities.
Main Accountabilities
- Accountable for the completion of standard or non-standard tasks, within the scope of the function
- Delivers activities to support operational objectives for their role.
- Makes decisions within parameters set by manager, using job/specialist experience.
- Interacts with client or users around specific work efforts and deliverables.
- Supports delivery of Health and Safety policy and standards
Skills and Experience
Knowledge and applied skills
- Achieved a recognised qualification in Building services/maintenance activities to City & Guilds or SVQ standards or previous experience in a similar role.
- Have a sound working knowledge of all UK facilities biased statute.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of building management systems beneficial but not essential
- Flexible in working time (occasional weekend or out of hours )
- Fork lift truck trained beneficial but not essential

Responsibilities
Main Duties:
- Support site compliance for UK legislation and Raytheon standards and procedures.
- Execution of both planed and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Carryout minor installation works and projects
- Work as part of the Glenrothes Facilities team, with high collaboration with site EHS and functional teams.
- Ability to respond to day to day activities in support of operational and customer needs.
- Management of contractors required to support Facilities department responsibilities and manufacturing requirements.
- Support site and department “On Call” process
