What you'll be doing

As a Senior Analyst, Securities Lending, you will provide direct support to the Securities Lending Trading Desk. The Securities Lending Trading desk is responsible for the execution and optimization of revenue, through the lending and borrowing of securities within the equity market. You will be responsible for all support functions such as, but not limited to, daily recalls and buy-ins,  coordination on returns ensuring they are matched off efficiently and accurately, collateral optimization, substitutions and exposure management, rate changes, contract compare, and rolling of term deals/evergreens. In addition, you will serve as a liaison between Front Office and Back Office Operations, helping troubleshoot and resolve outstanding issues, and provide internal reporting. The incumbent will proactively analyze and recommend enhancements to existing business processes, clearly communicate rationale and negotiate solutions which will enhance operational effectiveness. How you’ll succeed

  • Attention to detail & Analytical skills - Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that all client agreements and trade commitments are adhered to. All trading activity is fully balanced and settled by specified SLAs without errors or breaks.  Regularly participate in research and analysis of discrepancies between internal records, custodians and counterparties.  Present opportunities that provide the ability to maximize profits and reduce costs for both Front Office and Back Office.
  • Relationship-Building - Required to respond to client's inquiries and requests, providing professional high-quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure client satisfaction. The incumbent will have frequent professional engagement with clients, traders, regulators, senior leaders and other support staff. You will be required to liaise and manage  both internal and external relationships.
  • Problem-Solving - Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating and resolving organizational, operational or process problems. Identifies and documents specific problems, and alternative resolutions. Strong Technical skills, SQL, VBA, Excel, etc.
  • Operational Functions - Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements. Seeks efficiencies in operational functions wherever possible. Experience with Global One, BFS/ADP, along with other industry-leading applications, as well as settlement depositories (CDS, DTC, etc) and tri-party agent-lending platforms.
  • Effective Communication - Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors, tools and techniques. Communicates well downward, upward and outward.

  • You can demonstrate experience 3+ years of experience in relevant industry roles, with a strong understanding of capital markets and the securities lending business. It’s an asset if you have previous experience in Mid Office or Back Office support roles within securities lending.
