[What you will be working on] 

• Lead the end-to-end design process for complex digital products and services, from user research and conceptualization to prototyping and final implementation.
• Conduct in-depth user research, including interviews, usability testing, and data analysis, to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
• Translate user research findings, business requirements, and technical constraints into elegant and effective user experiences.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Develop high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes to test and validate design concepts with users and stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain design systems, style guides, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across products.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define product strategy, roadmap, and design solutions.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to fostering a strong design culture within MDDI, as well as the cluster.
• Advocate for user-centred design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.

As a Senior Designer, you are an experienced practitioner and emerging leader who elevates standards of design practice and collaboration. You solve problems creatively, going beyond best practices, and significantly influence your team's processes, its output, and its stakeholder relationships.

• You are comfortable with complexity and ambiguity; and can lead multiple projects confidently. Your experience allows you to work independently while guiding others to grow. You take full ownership of product strategy and designs and have a growing influence on the planning and objectives of larger programs.

Your leadership strengthens the team by sharing knowledge, improving workflows, and driving design excellence. Your expertise shapes key projects and your team's design culture. You consistently deliver outstanding work that creates measurable value and impact.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in UX/UI design, product design, or a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of projects.
• Proven experience leading design initiatives for complex digital products or services, preferably within a government or public sector context.
• Expert proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision).
• Demonstrated expertise in user research methodologies, usability testing, information architecture, and interaction design.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and their application in digital product design.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence stakeholders.
• Experience working in agile development environments.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• A strong passion for public service and a desire to create positive impact through design
