General Information:
Battery electric vehicles (BEV) represent the “greenest”, most economically feasible option for passenger cars currently available on the market. Key element of the BEV electrification technology is the high voltage axle drive system. The high voltage axle drive system consists of power electronics, electrical machine and the reducer.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Development of system functions and concepts for the HVD subsystems, i.e. inverter, e-motor and reducer
- Depending on your experience you will work in the following fields:
- Identification and distribution of all Stakeholder Requirements, e.g. Customer Requirement Specifications, Legal Standards, internal Standards;
- Requirements management (traceability, changes, metrics);
- Contribute to the definition of the system architecture and to the decomposition of the system into sub-systems (platform, modules and components);
- Analysis of HVD system performance results, comparison with requirements, identification of gaps and definition of improvement measures
- Peak and continuous performance
- Efficiency
- Thermal behavior
- Function development and corresponding SW components for inverter control and protection, for e-motor control, position determination, sensing of phase current and thermal protection
- Create models and simulations of embedded software solutions using Matlab/Simulink;
- Ensure that the specifications are in line with the customer requirements.
- Manage problem resolution and change management process including impacts on project timing, cost, overall risks
- Cooperate with international and interdisciplinary teams and synchronize with our internal customers.
- Travel for technical workshops, for analysis or fixes at customer (side or at) production site in case production issues arise
A mentor will support you to stepwise take over own responsibility after an initial training phase which will familiarize you with our products, tools, processes and organization.

Your Qualifications:
- Graduated in a relevant field (i.e. Electronics, Computer science, Automatics, Electrical Engineering, Medical Bioengineering, Mathematics or Physics);
- Knowledge of the electrical machine technology e.g. synchronous machines (permanent magnet, externally excited), induction machines;
- Knowledge in the field of operation and control of electrical machines;
- Knowledge in the field of DCAC inverter operation and control;
- Knowledge of embedded systems, model based engineering and programming;
- Understanding of system control engineering, electronics and physics;
- Basic knowledge about MATLAB/Simulink;
- Capability to analyze technical problems;
- Good english writing, reading and speaking skills;
- Analytical skills and a structured manner of work;
