Oak Valley Health is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for its Inpatient Mental Health Unit at Markham Stouffville Hospital. This casual, part-time role involves conducting psychiatric assessments, engaging in various treatment modalities, and providing supportive counseling. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent acute psychiatric nursing experience, a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses, and strong critical thinking and communication skills. This position contributes to a patient-centered approach to care in a progressive interprofessional environment.

What we are looking for:
The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments and engaging in the various treatment modalities provided in this acute, active Inpatient Mental Health Unit which is a Schedule 1 facility. As a Nurse in this progressive interprofessional environment, you will utilize your skills in assessment and supportive counseling with a diverse patient population. You will enjoy many opportunities to contribute to our patient/family centered approach to care, to participate in initiatives designed to continually improve the quality of care and to ensure the patient’s stay is a therapeutic experience.
