We are seeking an experienced Consultant Stroke Medicine Specialist to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, acute management, and long-term care of patients with cerebrovascular disorders. This role involves leading stroke services, ensuring rapid response pathways, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based neurological care within a multidisciplinary tertiary care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment and management of acute stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA) patients.
- Oversee thrombolysis and advanced stroke intervention pathways in coordination with neurology and interventional teams.
- Provide expert clinical management for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke cases.
- Develop and implement stroke protocols, clinical pathways, and rapid response systems.
- Manage inpatient and outpatient stroke rehabilitation and secondary prevention strategies.
- Interpret neuroimaging (CT, MRI, angiography) for acute and chronic cerebrovascular conditions.
- Collaborate with neurology, emergency medicine, ICU, radiology, rehabilitation, and vascular teams.
- Participate in stroke audits, morbidity & mortality meetings, and clinical governance activities.
- Ensure compliance with international stroke care guidelines and patient safety standards.
- Contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of junior medical staff.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate qualification in Neurology, Stroke Medicine, or Internal Medicine with stroke subspecialty training (FRCP, CCT, Board Certification, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years post-specialization experience.
- Strong expertise in acute stroke management, thrombolysis, and cerebrovascular care pathways.
- Experience in multidisciplinary stroke unit or comprehensive stroke center preferred.
- Excellent clinical judgment, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
