Overview of the role:
Saputo is seeking a Manager, Accounts Payable, for an existing opportunity within our organization. As a member of the Accounts Payable team, the Manager, Accounts Payable will be based in Saint Laurent and report to the Director, Finance. The Manager will oversee the policies and controls related to invoice payments and supervise the daily operations related to invoice payments. The Manager will also be responsible for automation initiatives and any system transitions surrounding the Accounts Payable function.
How you will make contributions that matter:
- Provide leadership and direction to a group of team leads, ensuring that all daily tasks are completed in accordance with established standards, timelines and performance objectives.
- Verify the lists of invoices received and prepared by the different locations and departments;
- Issue payments and ensure that they are accompanied by adequate supporting documents;
- Perform cheque reconciliation;
- Perform follow-up for DNS and PRS;
- Verify and pay expense accounts;
- Calculate supplier rebates;
- Supervise the creation and maintenance of vendor accounts;
- Monitor several distinct legal entities in the Canadian division;
- Tracking monthly KPIs for reporting;
- Other ad hoc continuous improvement projects (automation, transition to a potential new accounting system);
- Preparation of month end and monthly payment reports (tax installments, rent payments, etc.);
- Preparation of accounting information for internal and external audit;
- Act as a contact person for the various internal departments and communicate with suppliers across Canada;
- Prepare reports for tax representatives;
- Perform other related duties.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or any other relevant studies;
- 5 to 7 years experience in a similar position;
- Management experience required;
- Bilingualism (French and English) in speaking and writing;
- Knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of SAP and AS-400 (an asset);
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, in a cross functional environment;
- Strong team orientation and a proven ability to work well with others;
- Experience in establishing processes and demonstrate autonomy.
- As part of their duties, the position holder will be required to communicate and collaborate in English and French, both orally and in writing, with colleagues or other stakeholders located in Québec, elsewhere in Canada, or across North America.
