Job Description
The Sales Engineer Sr Manager will be an integral part of our growing Visa Acceptance Solutions group.
This person will lead the design, implementation, and configuration of Visa Acceptance Solutions to merchants and acquirers in the Southern Cone Region. As well, SE will identify, develop, and manage the integration of technology partners. This person will support the sales and business teams by providing in-depth technical knowledge and consultancy of merchant & acquirer payment processes as well as how to implement Visa Acceptance Solutions including CyberSource platforms, Connectivity, Risk and Network Products. The SE Manager will also provide key input for product roadmap and enhancements with global and regional product teams.
Finally, this position will have responsibility to cover all clients and prospects in the Southern Cone Region and will include interacting directly with new & existing customers, business & technology partners, and multi-functional Visa internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Technical Presales and Support functions for Visa Acceptance Platform in the Designated region.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of multiple Visa Merchant Digital products through research and testing to act as Visa Subject Matter Expert and drive client engagement.
- Provide technical pre-sales support by designing solutions architecture and leading product implementations in merchants and acquirers.
- Provide proposal support to the sales team to accurately determine the feasibility, cost and time implications when responding to customer proposals.
- Lead sales meetings with prospects giving product integration demonstrations with a sales-oriented approach, at all organization levels including C-levels. Manage proposal process for the business to accurately determine the feasibility, cost and time implications when responding to customer proposals.
- Gather and accurately document business and technical requirements from customers to work with other internal teams to provide reliable project estimates.
- Act as technical resource on consultancy projects, writing and delivering custom applications for clients.
- Aid in the completion and presentation of RFPs and RFIs.
- Define complete end‑to‑end solution designs that extend beyond technical validation to include operating models, regional constraints, non‑GA components, regulatory and scheme dependencies, failure modes, and long‑term scalability considerations.
- Lead complex problem‑solving efforts across multiple concurrent initiatives, products, and regions, often in parallel, ensuring forward progress despite fragmented ownership, evolving requirements, or incomplete documentation.
- Act as connective tissue between Product, Sales, Client Services, regional teams, and external partners, ensuring alignment and preventing issues from falling between functional boundaries.
- Deliver training sessions to colleagues and clients on the use of Visa Acceptance Solutions.
- Strategize with our Direct Sales and Account Management teams to close sales opportunities, including frequent contacts with internal Sr. Directors
- Work closely with our Product Management team to maintain technical and functional knowledge of existing and new products. Take a proactive approach to staying up to date with product developments by monitoring code release notes and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Deliver business consultancy to clients where needed.
- Learn, implement, and develop artifacts of IDDEA Selling methodology.
- Effective translators between technical, operational, commercial, and product perspectives.
- Manage the delivery of projects to clients by playing the role of solution architect and client delivery manager.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- 9+ experience in a technical pre-sales or consulting role, including prior experience with a complex enterprise environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related discipline is required. Master’s degree is desired.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
- Experience of working in the payments industry, e-Commerce, m-Commerce, or banking is preferred.
- Knowledge of payment and/or risk management systems is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working on complex implementations, integrations, or onboarding initiatives where requirements were evolving or ill‑defined.
- Proven ability to operate credibly with senior internal stakeholders and client leadership.
- Strong understanding of payment flows, operating models, and the interaction between technology, operations, and client processes.
- Evidence of sound judgment, decision‑making under uncertainty, and accountability for outcomes.
- Strong Technology Knowledge: you are comfortable working with APIs, Web and Mobile Application Integrations, Cloud, PaaS, SaaS models. Collaborating with Engineering on system design tradeoffs, can break down requirements into dependencies across multiple teams and can independently work with client’s engineers.
- Experience working as pre-sales and multiproduct expert in a technical environment.
- Experience of working alongside a sales team, supporting them to help win new business.
- Experience of regularly giving presentations to customers in a sales environment including Director and C-Level.
- Preferrable Project Management skills in any methodology Like Agile, PMI, Waterfall.
- Strong customer interaction skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and articulate fashion to both technical and non-technical audiences, in a sales-oriented manner.
- AI savvy i.e. be able to build AI toolsets and use available AI toolkit in SE role
- Be able to advise how Visa solutions fit in AI journeys for the clients.
- Ability to work independently on customer sites with minimal supervision.
- Experience of delivering paid consultancy or professionals services to clients is preferred.
