Overview

Project HR Manager

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups

Location – Pickering Parkway and Mississauga ON

Your role

  • Act as the Lead HR Business partner supporting strategic, large-scale projects, partnering with senior project, operational and functional leaders to align people strategies with business priorities, project milestones and delivery objectives.
  • Provide senior-level HR leadership, coaching and advice to project leadership teams on complex people matters, including workforce planning, organizational design, talent deployment, employee engagement, performance management, change management and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize organizational capabilities, behaviours, structures and resourcing models required to support strategic growth, project execution and operational excellence.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, providing practical, business-focused guidance on HR programs, policies, workforce impacts and employee relations matters.
  • Partner with Recruitment, Total Rewards, Labour Relations, Talent Management and other HR centres of expertise to deliver integrated solutions that support staffing plans, project assignments, mobilization and demobilization, succession planning and talent redeployment.
  • Lead or support HR workstreams within major business initiatives, ensuring change impacts, communications, stakeholder engagement, governance and implementation plans are effectively managed.
  • Advise and support leaders on performance management, leadership effectiveness, employee development, retention strategies, terminations and compensation-related matters.
  • Anticipate business and project needs and proactively develop HR solutions that support the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic priorities.
  • Champion employee engagement, culture, inclusion and leadership accountability across project teams and operational groups.
  • Stay current on employment legislation, HR best practices and compliance requirements, ensuring people decisions and project-related workforce strategies are aligned with applicable obligations.

About you

  • University degree or completion of a Human Resources Management degree/diploma program from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager supporting complex business groups, projects or operational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leadership teams and influencing business decisions through sound HR judgment, data-informed recommendations and practical people strategies.
  • Proven experience supporting strategic, large-scale projects, organizational change, workforce planning and/or business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, organizational development, change management, talent management, employee relations and performance management.
  • Ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, balancing employee experience, business objectives, project delivery requirements and risk management considerations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, negotiate, facilitate, resolve conflicts and build alignment across cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work as the primary HR partner within a cross-functional management team, with minimal supervision and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present information clearly to senior audiences.
