Job Description
Context
The Project Engineer – Service Operations Automation is responsible for driving digital transformation and automation initiatives within Singapore Service Operations.
The role focuses on improving operational efficiency by reducing manual administrative effort, simplifying ERP-related activities, automating repetitive business processes, and improving visibility through digital dashboards and reporting solutions.
Working closely with Service Coordinators, Logistics Teams, Engineers, Project Leads, and Operational Stakeholders, the individual will identify process inefficiencies and develop automation solutions that improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.
The role combines business process knowledge, software development, workflow automation, robotic process automation (RPA), data analytics, and dashboard development to support a scalable and efficient service operation.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, or related discipline, or equivalent working and thinking level.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational pain points into practical digital solutions.
Experience in process automation, software development, data analytics, and business process improvement is preferred.
Knowledge of ERP environments, logistics processes, service operations, and supply chain workflows is advantageous.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Process Analysis & Digital Transformation
Analyze existing service operation workflows and identify opportunities to eliminate manual activities and improve operational efficiency.
Document current and future-state processes and develop digital solutions that simplify day-to-day operations.
Drive digital transformation initiatives that support long-term operational excellence and scalability.
ERP Process Automation
Develop automation solutions to reduce manual ERP transactions and repetitive user activities.
Automate operational processes including:
Reduce manual data entry, unnecessary clicks, duplicate activities, and reliance on manual tracking methods.
Intelligent Automation Development
Design, develop, test, and maintain automation solutions utilizing workflow automation, robotic process automation, and system integrations.
Develop unattended and attended automation solutions to improve productivity and process consistency.
Implement notification, escalation, exception handling, and monitoring capabilities within automated processes.
Dashboard & Reporting Solutions
Develop dashboards and operational reporting tools that provide real-time visibility into key business processes.
Support reporting and analytics in areas such as:
Provide data-driven insights that support operational and management decision-making.
Software Development & System Integration
Develop custom applications, scripts, and workflow solutions that improve operational performance.
Integrate approved enterprise platforms, ERP systems, databases, SharePoint, reporting tools, and workflow systems where appropriate.
Ensure developed solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and properly documented.
Data Management & Analytics
Develop automated methods for collecting, transforming, and validating operational data.
Improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility across operational teams.
Support business intelligence and continuous improvement initiatives through data analytics and reporting.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with Service Operations teams, Engineers, Logistics teams, Project Leads, and Management stakeholders to understand business requirements.
Translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate technical concepts in a clear and practical manner.
Support solution deployment, user adoption, training, and continuous enhancement activities.
Continuous Improvement
Promote Lean and Continuous Improvement principles across operational processes.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, eliminate waste, and enhance customer responsiveness through automation and digitalization.
Drive a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
