Our Mission
The Ad & Media Company is in the expansion phase of its business.
Our Corporate Planning Department works daily with the management team led by the Company President to achieve this growth.

Our primary responsibilities include formulating, executing, and managing the progress of corporate strategies.
Through market and competitor analysis, deep insights into market and internal environments, and hypothesis development, we aim to build an optimal business portfolio and support management to maximize each business’s performance, thereby contributing to the company’s growth.

Main Responsibilities
You will drive business growth through a wide range of tasks to achieve business strategy goals.

- Lead budget planning
Through budget planning, you will design the future of the business. *Budget planning is carried out in collaboration with the sister organization, the Corporate Planning Team, as one team.
- Business performance management (=P/L management)
By updating performance data (P/L and related metrics) weekly and constantly looking ahead, you will explore strategic actions daily and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Management analysis and recommendations
Analyze various management data and market trends, prepare reports, and provide recommendations to the management team.
- Strategic initiative support
Support the execution of business strategy by coordinating initiatives, collaborating with departments, and managing progress.
- AI-driven operational efficiency
Incorporate Rakuten Group's company-wide AI-nization initiative into daily work to pursue efficient and high-precision outputs.

Work Environment

Work Environment
The Finance (Management Accounting) team consists of five members, including the manager, and works closely on a daily basis with the sister organization, the Corporate Planning team (three members, including the manager). Together, they operate as a "one team" of eight members.
All members joined Rakuten as mid-career hires with diverse backgrounds (previous employers include manufacturers, the food and beverage industry, trading companies, government agencies, and consulting firms).

Our team consists of members with diverse careers, including those from operating companies, consulting firms, former government officials, and holders of overseas MBAs. The team is composed exclusively of mid-career hires, fostering an environment where different perspectives and experiences are leveraged.

The team includes two foreign nationals, allowing us to work in a multicultural environment. In addition, two other members have overseas living experience.

Strategic planning and financial management work closely together, combining their expertise to collaborate toward the shared goal of the company's sustainable growth. Mandatory Qualifications:

- Practical experience in corporate planning, FP&A, or management accounting at a business company, or professional experience in finance/strategy at a consulting firm (equivalent to 3+ years)
- Willingness to engage in communication necessary for consensus-building among multiple stakeholders
- Ability to structurally understand P&L statements
- Proficiency in managing/executing multitasking based on priorities
- Experience creating reports and materials using PowerPoint in a professional setting
- Intermediate Excel skills (ability to use intermediate-level functions to produce outputs with reasonable accuracy)
- A strong interest in numerical management based on strategies and business plans.
- E21Japanese: Native level

Desired Qualifications:

- Advanced analytical skills to deeply understand P&L, BS, and CF statements, break them down, and identify business challenges
- Accounting-related qualifications (e.g., Bookkeeping, CPA, USCPA, USCMA)
- Experience in applying logical and structured explanation skills in business operations
- Experience in presenting and reporting to management decision-makers (proficiency in creating detailed materials with PowerPoint is a plus)
- Experience in preparing documents in English
