Job Description:

We are looking for a Packaging Manager / Expert (d/f/m) to join our team Warehouse Operations in Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel.

We are a team with diverse profiles and a strong, collaborative spirit that serves as the link between Satair’s subcontractors and our internal stakeholders. Our primary goal is to constantly seek for improvements in the warehouse performance and thereby enhance the customer experience. We are looking for a professional who can contribute with their ideas and expertise to a team that values both results and a positive, supportive atmosphere.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • Develop and implement compliant packaging solutions for sensitive aerospace components (e.g. avionics, turbine blades, sensors…) while meeting timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Own and drive the PPWR roadmap by translating evolving regulatory requirements into clear priorities, actionable development guidelines, and concrete implementation plans.
  • Ensure product integrity against physical damage, corrosion, and electrostatic discharge throughout global supply chains.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with external vendors and suppliers, including negotiating terms for materials and printing services
  • Ensure strict compliance with aerospace standards (ATA Spec 300) and dangerous goods regulations (IATA DGR / 49 CFR).
  • Analyse existing packaging workflows to identify and implement improvements for sustainability, efficiency and cost reduction.

ABOUT YOU

  • Educational Background: Degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering, Material Science or a related technical discipline such as Logistics.
  • Industry Expertise: Experience in developing protective packaging for high-value components, ideally within the aerospace or high-tech sector.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of ATA Specification 300 and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), and a solid understanding of PPWR and sustainable packaging requirements with the ability to translate regulations into practical development guidance.
  • Technical & IT Skills: Familiarity with SAP-ERP systems.
  • Work Style: A proactive, solution-oriented, and service-minded approach with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Vendor/Supplier Management: Strong vendor management and negotiation skills regarding material selection and services
  • Language skills: Negotiation-level proficiency in both German and English is mandatory for this position.
