Position Overview
The Senior Staff Developer, Engineering – Endpoint leads the development and delivery of Arctic Wolf’s Aurora Endpoint product line, driving execution of high-quality, secure, and scalable endpoint solutions.
This role is responsible for a distributed engineering organization, including a well-established team based in Bangalore, India, delivering across multiple concurrent initiatives. The leader will ensure strong alignment with product strategy, consistent execution, and high-performing team dynamics across global teams.
A critical mandate of this role is to lead the adoption of AI-driven software engineering practices, enabling teams to leverage modern tooling to improve development velocity, code quality, and delivery outcomes.
Position Overview and Objective
This role provides deep technical leadership and ownership across multiple teams within a department, driving strategic technical direction, solving complex engineering challenges, and mentoring technical leaders. The individual is responsible for end-to-end delivery of large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and future scalability.
This position is based in Bangalore, India and requires close collaboration with engineering teams in North America (USA and Canada). Arctic Wolf places a strong emphasis on quality and efficiency; candidates must demonstrate consistent excellence in delivering high-quality outcomes. A strong understanding of applying AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) across the software development lifecycle to improve efficiency and task completion is required.
Job Scope
Leverages AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to improve efficiency across coding, debugging, testing, and documentation tasks within the SDLC.
Applies AI-assisted workflows to increase productivity while maintaining strong standards of quality.
Experience training or enabling team members in the effective use of AI tools is desired.
Strong focus on Windows systems development, including a strong preference for kernel/driver level development experience.
Experience within cybersecurity environments, particularly Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR), is highly desired.
Maintains a strong commitment to Arctic Wolf’s focus on quality, efficiency, and engineering excellence.
Provides deep technical ownership and technical leadership across multiple services and teams, typically focused in one area or R&D Department and associated teams. Has the ability to perform programming tasks and large engineering projects with Independence and expertise. Responsible for guiding and mentoring other staff members. Regularly lead technical projects. Sometimes help decide on a problem to focus on. Mastery over software development best practices. Develops reusable design patterns. Responsible for end-to-end delivery of projects.

- Represents technical needs for department to other R&D VP Areas
- Identifies and leads department level improvement initiatives
- Join daily standup as often as possible across teams, supporting how work can be assigned to team members

- Accountable for the technical direction of the overall Department
- Coding, Unit Testing, Test Automation in a timely manner, meeting commitments
- "How do we solve a specific hard technical problem, ensure our teams work align together, and look forward to how to handle future needs around scale?"

Deep expertise in one or more technical domains supporting work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. - Reviews and signs off on HLDs and provides feedback and alignment to our Aspirational Architecture
- Supports teams in Department by joining team and providing implementation support for more difficult or error prone areas of coding
- Ensuring teams are following Architecture Blueprints, Definition of Ready, and Definition of Done and standards for things like Unit Tests and Test Automation

- Demonstrates clear ownership of the quality and operation of all team services
Knowledge & Experience
Applies broad expertise and knowledge in highly specialized fields or several related disciplines. Leads and contributes to development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Strong expertise in Windows internals, with experience in low-level and kernel development preferred, particularly within cybersecurity domains such as EDR/MDR solutions. Demonstrates ability to apply AI tools to enhance engineering workflows and outcomes.

- Deep experience with multiple full-stack development frameworks, self-driven to learn new development frameworks and practices
- Technically knowledgeable on technologies and interactions across components within the department (is the final voice on technical decisions)

- Experience with working across multiple software development teams, with ability to coach others of tooling to ensure collaboration (ie. pair programming)
- Cross multiple teams’ coordination of moving towards aspirational architecture
- Reviewing team standards of maintainable code practice and continuously improving upon them
- Consistently responsive (not meaning speed but does keep on top of) communication with the team (ie. slack, email, standups)
- Clearly shares status and need for support using positive and appropriate language
- Outcomes:
- Propose, review and approve coding standards and PR standards (may need to do some mentoring to support)
- Identifies improvement opportunities and drives alignment for improvement focused change
- Coaching Developers through pairing, code examples, or knowledge share sessions

Owns large systems or domains, drives technical direction, and leads review for larger impact incident response.
Environment and Physical Demands
- Work is primarily sedentary in nature and can be executed sitting or standing positions in an office environment.
- Requires ability to utilize technology related to using a keyboard, verbal communication, and work with device screens which require visual acuity.
