The DSRD Necropsy and Histology Technical Assistant supports rodent and non-rodent necropsy and histology procedures with guidance. The role involves performing routine tasks, complying with SOPs and regulatory guidelines, and maintaining data integrity. Responsibilities include specimen handling, equipment maintenance, and project coordination within a structured laboratory environment.

What You Will Achieve
DSRD Necropsy/Histology Technical Assistant has the competency to perform some aspects of rodent and non-rodent routine necropsy and/or histology procedures with guidance/supervision.
Understands, complies with and applies Necropsy/Histology goals, SOP’s and guidelines including all regulatory, EHS, and IACUC requirements. Possesses specialized knowledge in veterinary anatomy and histology that he/she uses to support daily tasks.
With some guidance from colleagues and under general supervision, he/she participates in projects to support the work group and team goals (ex: data and/or specimen quality control, user guides, standard operating procedures, lesson plans).

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires performing ex vivo work and therefore the colleagues must be able to wear appropriate PPE. They must be able to physically perform the technical procedures that may require lifting, sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Weekend/holiday work will be required.
Work Location Assignment: On Premise
