Job Summary:
The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems Department provides Electrical Systems Engineering expertise to develop Guidance Electronics solutions for products across the Raytheon portfolio. Our team focuses on designing and integrating missile Guidance Electronics Hardware, with core engineering responsibilities including architecture, requirements development, integration, and testing. Our technologies include RF/RADAR, Navigation/IMU/GPS, Digital, and Power systems.

We are seeking a Principal Power Systems Integration Engineer (Power Lead) with deep expertise in power system architecture, hardware design, and verification. In this role, the Power Lead will oversee the development, integration, and validation of advanced power systems for missile guidance subsystems and ensure alignment with overall system requirements. This position involves managing cross-functional teams, providing technical oversight, and delivering innovative power solutions to meet program objectives. Additionally, the Power Lead will guide the team through critical design reviews, manage suppliers, and contribute to proposal development efforts.

What You Will Do :

  • Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of power systems for missile Guidance Electronics Hardware, including power supplies, power distribution systems, and energy storage technologies.
  • Develop and document subsystem-level and system-level power requirements, architectures, and test plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, ensuring successful execution of program deliverables.
  • Oversee critical design reviews and ensure technical rigor in meeting project commitments.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, electrical design teams, and program management to ensure seamless integration of power systems within the overall system architecture.
  • Solve complex technical problems, from system-level power integration down to circuit card-level designs.
  • Lead failure investigation teams, conduct root cause analyses, and present findings to customers and senior leadership.
  • Manage suppliers for power subsystems, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Support proposal development efforts, including technical inputs and cost estimates for power systems solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to develop innovative and reliable power solutions for advanced systems.
  • Travel as required, including potential international travel, to support program and customer needs.


Qualifications You Must Have
 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience in power systems engineering, electrical hardware development, systems engineering, or subsystems integration.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows:
  • Master’s Degree = 2 years of experience
  • Ph.D. = 4 years of experience
  • Expertise in power systems engineering, including power electronics, power supply design, power distribution systems, and energy storage technologies.
  • Experience in developing and validating power-related system-level and subsystem-level requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing cross-functional engineering teams and delivering complex technical solutions.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (required prior to start date). U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer
 

  • Experience in designing and troubleshooting power systems for military or aerospace applications, including radiation-hardened designs, EMI/EMC considerations, and thermal management.
  • Knowledge of missile guidance electronics and the integration of power solutions with antennas, RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards, and configurable logic.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience leading root cause failure investigations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and processes for power system design and verification in high-reliability environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple programs or projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
