Description
Join Pernod Ricard’s Global Tech team and take part in a transformative journey aiming to support our business ambitions with valuable Data & AI products and services. Our global Tech team operates in an agile manner within a dynamic product organization: a collaborative environment where you grow through continuous upskilling and play a direct role in shaping the future of the Wine & Spirits industry through cutting-edge technology.
As a Data Analyst within the Data Analyst Chapter, you act as a Data & AI powered decision partner for the business: you combine specialized business expertise, deep data knowledge and advanced analytical skills to transform business questions into data requests, and raw data into actionable insights and recommendations. You operate across Pernod Ricard’s Business Units, data domains and global functions (Supply Chain, HR, Finance and others).
Your value spans the full lifecycle of a data product. Beyond the early framing and the delivery phase, you run regular iterations with the business to make sure the solution keeps matching expectations, and you project toward industrialization from the start. You act as a contributor throughout: the Product Owner owns the iteration cadence and the ML and Data Engineers realize industrialization. The aim is to evolve the role from data explorer to insight orchestrator.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Business partnership & specialized expertise
- Build and maintain close proximity with one or several business functions (Marketing Effectiveness, Portfolio Strategy, Commercial Execution, Revenue Growth Management, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, HR).
- Receive and interpret data-related business briefs; translate business needs into structured data requirements.
- Answer ad hoc business questions with insights that directly support decision-making, documenting assumptions, methodology and limitations.
2. Exploratory analytics, iterations & MVP delivery
- Access, understand and assess data across domain sources (availability, quality, expected business value vs effort).
- Run first iterations on business needs and data solution recommendations; deliver features autonomously on a defined perimeter.
- Run regular iterations with the business throughout delivery to confirm the solution keeps matching expectations, and adjust the analytics features accordingly (the Product Owner owns the iteration cadence).
- Anticipate industrialization from the start: provide go / no-go recommendations and flag the metrics and monitoring that will matter in production, with the target delivery teams.
- Explore new business requests ahead of Product Owner assignment, in close link with Business Owners.
3. Insight generation & decision support
- Co-design with the business and deliver key analytical dashboards and data stories with a managed lifecycle: identified business owner, periodic usage review and decommissioning of inactive reports.
- Apply data storytelling to turn analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for decision-makers.
4. GenAI-augmented analytics & experimentation
- Make intensive, well-governed use of GenAI tools for data exploration, analysis acceleration and insight orchestration, including their limits and reliability controls.
- Promote experimentation literacy with business teams: test protocols (A/B testing, pre/post impact analyses), statistical sizing and rigorous interpretation of results.
- Contribute to AI use-case framing together with Data Scientists, bringing business context and data understanding.
5. Analytics practice & data knowledge
- Contribute to a centralized, harmonized and prioritized analytics practice aligned with Pernod Ricard’s business strategy.
- Develop and share Pernod Ricard data understanding (structure & modeling, transformation & lineage, data assessment) within the Chapter.
- Feed the certified KPI catalogue by escalating definition divergences observed in the field.
- Share best practices within the analytics community and contribute to upskilling (including apprentices and interns).
YOUR PROFILE
- Master’s degree (engineering school, university or business school) in data analytics, statistics, econometrics, computer science or equivalent.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, business analytics or decision support.
- Demonstrated track record of business-facing analytical delivery: from brief interpretation to insight presentation to decision-makers.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis (e.g., Pandas).
- Solid understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics, experimentation frameworks, and analytical methodologies.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and semantic data layers.
- Experience leveraging AI and Generative AI tools to enhance analytics workflows and productivity.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and support cross-functional business functions.
- Excellent data storytelling, presentation, and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, intellectually curious, and comfortable working with ambiguous business challenges.
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Fluent English required; professional French proficiency is an advantage.
