The Customer Reliability Engineering team at Cisco, now part of Isovalent, is seeking a Customer Reliability Engineer for Hypershield. This role involves deep technical escalation for Cisco Hypershield on Nexus N9300 Series Smart Switches, handling complex break/fix issues and applying SRE practices across the full stack. Responsibilities include diagnosing production failures, localizing faults across layered architectures, reproducing customer issues, partnering with engineering for fixes, and contributing to systemic improvements via runbooks and product feedback. The position requires strong networking expertise, troubleshooting skills, and customer-facing experience. Experience with Cisco Nexus/NX-OS, Linux, and containers is essential.

The Customer Reliability Engineering team is the deep technical escalation tier for Cisco Hypershield on the Cisco Nexus N9300 Series Smart Switches. The team owns the hardest break/fix and reliability cases escalated by Cisco TAC, applying Site Reliability Engineering practices across the full stack: the data-center fabric and the on-premises Kubernetes controller that manages the security policy enforced on it. The work demands methodical diagnosis, composure under incident pressure, and the ability to operate at the seam between customer environments and engineering.
The ideal candidate combines deep networking expertise with strong troubleshooting skills, customer-facing experience, and a passion for improving reliability across complex product environments.

Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

$158,200.00 - $241,700.00Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:
$140,600.00 - $241,800.00* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco’s sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
