Description

- Read and understand daily production schedule and material requirements.
- Transport needed packaging materials to production area.
- Set-up and operate packaging equipment with correct materials and product based on order specifications. Safely and efficiently stack finished product where required.
- Meet daily production requirements.
- Perform periodic quality control checks to ensure product is packaged according to customer requirements (including checking end and back seals, and date codes).
- Perform efficient and timely change overs of product varieties; must follow pre-set guidelines and change out filtering screens based on product variety/size. Set, adjust and periodically check the flow of product through a foreign materials machine. Check magnet for any foreign materials and document and report as required.
- Accurately complete and maintain required documentation on product, materials/supplies, output and machine downtime.
- Troubleshoot minor packaging problems and make appropriate adjustments on equipment.
- Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
- Comply with company safety policies and maintain clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor, Production Lead or other members of management.
- Frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel and crouch. Lift, carry and/or move items up to 50 pounds, without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, to verbally communicate; and to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
