Rakuten Ichiba is seeking an EC Consultant for its China Business Section in the Overseas Sales Strategy Department. This role involves advising Chinese stores on Rakuten Ichiba about store operations and sales promotion measures to increase sales. Department Overview
We are looking for an EC consultant to provide advice on store operations and propose sales promotion measures and plans to increase sales for stores in China that have opened stores on Rakuten Ichiba, one of the largest online shopping malls in Japan.

With the increase in the number of foreign companies entering the Japanese market, the number of stores opening in the Rakuten Market is also increasing.
In this context, we are seeking to strengthen our personnel structure to provide stronger support to Chinese stores and to seek new ideas that are not bound by conventional ways of doing things.
Position Details
As a partner to Chinese stores that have already opened stores on Rakuten Ichiba, you will provide a wide range of support, including advice on achieving sales targets, proposals for advertisement placement, market analysis, and product planning.
Scope of Responsibility
1. Store development
- Analysis of store page traffic, customer spend, and other figures while listening to store issues and proposing appropriate countermeasures
- Set sales targets with stores and make proposals tailored to store merchandise and conditions, such as advertising to attract customers and campaigns during the sales season, to achieve these targets
2. Seminar planning Seminar planning
- Identify needs of stores and plan and hold related seminars
- Review effects after seminars and devise improvement measures to better support stores
3. Correspondence to other tasks within the company
- Proceed with projects related to business
- Prepare materials and reports related to internal meetings
- Coordinate with other departments within the company and Handling information acquisition and event planning, etc
Sales Style
We communicate with stores on a daily basis via e-mail and telephone, but we may also meet with them in person to discuss medium- to long-term sales initiatives and budgets.
*Our clients are mainly representatives of companies, decision makers, and managers in charge of store operations.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Experience in sales
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese, Chinese, and English
Desired Qualifications:
- Sales experience in proposal-based, solution-based, or consulting-based roles
- Experience in cross-border e-commerce
