As a Veterinary Receptionist, you'll help keep our busy hospital running efficiently while providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering multi-line phones while providing exceptional customer service
- Scheduling appointments, surgeries, boarding, and grooming reservations
- Greeting clients and checking in patients
- Processing prescription refill requests
- Communicating with veterinarians and technicians regarding patient needs
- Preparing estimates and invoices
- Maintaining accurate electronic medical records
- Processing payments and client transactions
- Helping manage appointment flow throughout the day
- Maintaining a clean, welcoming reception area
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly administrative tasks
- Supporting a positive client experience from check-in through checkout

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year of customer service experience
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced veterinary or healthcare environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, positive, and dependable attitude
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate during emotional situations
- Comfortable learning new technology and practice management software (Cornerstone experience a plus!)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Veterinary Receptionist or Veterinary CSR experience
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology
- Experience using electronic veterinary practice management software (PIMS)
- Knowledge of prescription refill processes and appointment scheduling
Physical Requirements
Candidates should be able to:
- Stand or sit for extended periods throughout the workday
- Lift and carry up to 40–50 pounds with or without accommodation
- Bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout the hospital
- Work around animals of varying sizes and temperaments
- Work in an environment with exposure to animal dander, cleaning products, disinfectants, and occasional loud noises
- Use computers and phones for extended periods while accurately documenting patient information
