KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategy and Performance

  • Serve as the designated Head of Agency for FWD Insurance Berhad holding primary accountability for the performance and conduct of the conventional agency force
  • Provide strategic oversight and functional leadership to the Agency channel of FWD Takaful Berhad, ensuring the designated Head of Agency Takaful executes strategies in alignment with Shariah principles and the Takaful Operational Framework.
  • Accountable for sustainable Agency growth, ensuring balanced achievement of sales targets, persistency rates and agency performance indicators such as BSC in line with the Group’s risk appetite.
  • Develop agency strategies that align with Fair Treatment of Customers framework, ensuring sales incentive structures do not drive poor customer outcomes keeping in mind consistency between FWD Insurance and FWD Takaful while also adhering to shariah principles for Takaful, where applicable
  • Responsible to maximise agency’s productivity and agency growth through cross-entity collaboration and synergies for effective execution of agency sales and distribution strategies.
  • Provide recommendation and insights for the development and promotion of agency products
  • Accountable for Shariah compliance in agent conduct and sales material for FWD Takaful Agency including ensuring all Takaful agents are adequately trained on Shariah concepts and that sales presentations accurately reflect the Takaful contract, avoiding misrepresentation as conventional insurance
  • Accountable for the Fit and Proper assessment of all agents during recruitment and on-going monitoring of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hours compliance
  • Accountable for Sales and Business Development initiatives for FWD Insurance while also providing oversight to FWD Takaful to deliver the same and aligned with the overall Group objectives
  • Lead business development initiatives based on current market trends and competitors; identify and establish strategic partnerships to enhance agency’s capabilities.
  • Accountable for designing, implementing and annual review of the Agency Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Agency Remuneration Framework, ensuring incentives drive fair customer outcomes and Shariah compliance (for FWDT), avoiding excessive risk-taking.

People and Stakeholder Management

  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders including distribution leadership and agencies to improve FWDT and FWDIB’s presence and provide recommendation to improve the customer experience while driving critical value creation and competitive differentiation in the market.
