Job Description:

TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. For over two decades, the organization has established competitive market positions in active, quantitative, and passive portfolio management.  As of December 31, 2025, TDAM and its affiliates manage over $508 billion  in assets on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment/foundation, and corporate clients, as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.

In attaining this client commitment, TDAM has built one of Canada’s largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications and Thought Leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the expertise of our Portfolio Managers and Client Portfolio Managers into clear, creative, credible, on-brand content that advances TDAM's point of view – while protecting quality, reputation and compliance. Key accountabilities include:

  •  Clarify purpose and audience: Define who the piece is for, what it should influence (awareness, trust, action), and the main takeaway
  • Strength of the idea: Pressure-test the thesis, sharpen the argument, improve structure, and ensure the piece offers a distinct, useful perspective (not just commentary)
  • Elevate readability and voice: Edit for clarity, flow, tone, and consistency with the organization's style – translating complex concepts into accessible language without dumbing it down
  • Improve evidence and accuracy: Check logic, validate claims, request sources/data, flag overstatements, and ensure balanced, defensible conclusions
  • Differentiate and add originality: Identify what's genuinely new and insightful and reduce generic content
  • Manage stakeholders and workflow: coordinate inputs and approvals (i.e. subject matter experts, internal peers and compliance), resolve conflicting feedback, and keep timelines moving
  • Ensure risk/compliance alignment: Remove or reframe statements that create regulatory, legal or reputational risk; ensure required disclosures are included
  • Optimize for distribution: Craft strong headlines, leads, subheads, scannable formatting; align the piece to the channel (article, blog, report)

Job Requirements:

  • 5 – 10 years of professional writing and editing skills and a degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing/Communications
  • Manage end‑to‑end thought leadership projects, balancing timelines, stakeholders, and approvals to deliver high‑quality materials on schedule
  • 5+ years of mutual funds or investment industry experience
  • Completion of Investment Funds in Canada certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mutual funds, financial markets, investment products and investment/sales strategies
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to think strategically to create dynamic sales support materials and effectively and accurately convey intended messages to target audiences
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Customer focused
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
