What You Will Do:

Identify potential replacement hardware components, perform trade studies, and select devices that best meet program requirements
Execute preliminary and detailed hardware design activities
Conduct device‑level bench testing and system‑level integration testing in support of Engineering Change Proposals
Develop and review technical documentation across the product lifecycle
Mentor junior engineers throughout the development cycle
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners including Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Supply Chain
Lead small teams of hardware development engineers in support of Engineering Change Proposals (as opportunities arise)

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Experience creating technical documentation related to Configuration Control, Change Management, Trade Studies, and design artifacts
Experience developing detailed verification test plans and test reports
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multi-functional environment (e.g., field engineering, supply chain, suppliers, customers)
U.S. citizenship required due to access requirements under applicable program/contract regulations

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience designing with COTS hardware
Familiarity with Linux or Solaris operating systems
Project or team leadership experience
Earned Value Management (EVM) experience

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
