Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Core, Media Solutions to build and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure for Google's media indexing capabilities. This role involves developing foundational architecture for image, video, and multimodal content, crucial for features like Search results, Gemini training datasets, and Google Lens. Ideal candidates will have strong programming skills, experience with large-scale distributed systems, and a passion for contributing to AI-driven user experiences.
Our team provides the Google-scale media (image, video, multimodal) indexing to create the media-rich corpora that enable visually appealing Search results that include AIM and Discover, media-rich Gemini training datasets, Google Lens capabilities, and more. To this end, we focus on building scalable and reliable infrastructure that drives Google’s capability to provide relevant and engaging results through multimodal understanding. As we shift to the AI era, our work is critical to providing rapid media signal iteration for training dataset curation, and the foundational video and image indexing architecture that can leverage the full power of Gemini to unlock the next generation of AI-powered content understanding.
